Poor maths skills failing UK engineering students
UK students' poor maths skills could result in the UK's future engineers trailing behind the other countries, according to the findings from a recent survey.
The new Sensors Solutions section covers enhanced vision systems based on mmW RF imaging technology (94GHz), Hardware in Loop (HWIL) IR countermeasures and LADAR.
The use of mmW RF imaging technology (94GHz) provides a powerful solution to imaging in all visibility conditions, including white-outs and brown-outs.
It has significant benefits over IR imaging methods in the range of conditions it can accommodate, and the detail with which obscured objects can be imaged.
The same core radar unit has military, quasi-military and commercial applications.
The HWIL IR Countermeasures facility offers a laboratory test aid to examine imaging infra-red seeker behaviour in the presence of complex background, targets and high-temperature countermeasures.
The facility is at the leading edge of real-time HWIL testing, offering a highly flexible and versatile architecture for sensor, seeker and algorithm testing.
Methodologies have also been developed for the testing of LADAR seekers in a HWIL environment.
Current HWIL test benches can be expanded to include LADAR testing by providing a third dimension of range and target depth.
