P and B Engineering is providing its advanced design intelligent protection controllers for the Saih Nihadya Gas Plant (SNGP) a natural gas project in Oman.

The equipment is being supplied to the Larsen and Toubro company, India's largest supplier of low voltage switchgear, for whom this will be another major contract operation in the Middle East.

Low voltage switchboard sections are being supplied to the Al-Hassan company for final assembly and subsequent delivery to the Oman oil, petrochemical and gas industry.

The project consultant for the whole operation is SNC-Lavlin of Canada.

The equipment being supplied by P and B Engineering will constitute the Supervision 2 modular series of motor and transformer feeder intelligent protection and control relays.

These comprise Motorvision and Feedervision, with Advanced versions of both systems being available where the highest levels of system protection, monitoring and security are required.

This series of relays also provide extensive data gathering, data monitoring and meter information facilities.

Time synchronisation from GPS satellites can be provided where required to ensure accurate time/date stamping of recorded information covering system problems or disturbances.

A common communication system is provided for motor, feeder and generator protection and control, with intelligent dual redundancy incorporated.
