Now available from Powerline is the Digital Power ePower 300, a compact switch-mode power supply designed to provide an exceptionally high power density in the most demanding applications The new unit measures only 6.8 ? 3.8 ? 1.2 inches (173 ? 97 ? 27 mm), yet delivers an output power of up to 300 W - equivalent to a power density of 10 W per cubic inch

The eP300-433 has four isolated outputs: 5 V/40 A, 3.3 V/40 A, 12 V/3 A and -12 V/1.5 A, and is ideal for space-critical applications in broadcasting, data communications, telecommunications and computer peripheral systems.

It operates over a universal input range of 90-250 V AC, and incorporates input power-factor correction and EMI line-filtering circuitry.

The high power density and the efficiency of 85% result from the use of novel circuit design techniques, including the use of MOSFET based synchronous rectification to give low forward voltage drop and minimal losses.

Other key features include the use of surface-mount components including low-profile transformers, plus a thermal design which eliminates the need for separate heatsinks.
