Poeton Industries is preparing a new series of its successful seminars on surface coating technology to help design and production engineers get the best from the often bewildering range of surface treatments available.

The seminars will be presented by two of the company's most experienced applications and processing engineers and will examine the potential and the limitations of different coatings, including the latest Keronite treatments for aluminium and magnesium alloys.

The seminars will also explain how the right choice of surface treatment can reduce design-to-manufacture time, speed up production, extend product life and reduce costs.

Visual aids, such as coating selection software and a wear test database, will also be available to demonstrate how easy it can be to match a coating to an application.

A spokesman for the company says the seminars are run regularly for existing customers to keep them up-to-date with the rapidly developing technology.

"We are now offering a seminar to any company wanting to increase their knowledge base or use it as part of a 'continuous professional development' programme for their engineering staff." Says Sean Hammond, Commercial General Manager.

The two-hour seminars, which are usually held at the customers' premises, review coatings and applications, and include a period of open discussion and a problem-solving forum.
