John takes over at Poeton

Poeton (Gloucester) has promoted Colin John to MD.

Poeton (Gloucester) has promoted Colin John to Managing Director.

John, a chartered chemist and formerly group technical director, takes over from Anthony Poeton who will now focus on the Poeton Group and its international activities.

John, who joined the company in 1969, says he will be capitalising on Poeton's Research and Development Centre and technical resource, which includes a PhD chemist, one of the UK's leading tribologists and a team of graduate chemists.

He explains: "As one of the world's leading surface treatment technologists we are experts in the wear, corrosion and performance characteristics of a wide range of substrates, which means we can help customers improve the performance of components and add value to, and extend the life of, products".

John, who was responsible for spearheading Poeton's consultancy and technology transfer business, including setting up licensees in China, Taiwan, USA and Europe, adds that Poeton's unrivalled experience is also available to help manufacturing companies establish or improve their own plating facilities.
