Apticote 425 is a super-corrosion-resistant electroless nickel composite claimed to outperform traditional electroless nickel coatings by up to twenty times The new surface treatment from Poeton Industries combines electroless nickel and electrochemical technologies to minimise traditional electroless nickel coating problems such as point defects and corrosion and guarantee one thousand hours salt mist endurance in accordance with ASTM B117 - even on cast iron components

Apticote 425 can be applied to a wide range of metallic substrates, providing uniform coverage without loss of tolerance.

It is ideal for steel and iron castings where it closely conforms to the complex shapes and sharp edges that can be a problem for traditional electroless nickel coatings.

Sean Hammond, Poeton Commercial General Manager says applications for Apticote 425 will include components such as hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in the oil and gas, automotive and sub-sea industries where, besides vastly extending in-service life, the new coating will also increase the nonworking durability of the parts.
