Industrial PCs come with battery backup

A Pro-face UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 23, 2007

Battery backup unit ensures trouble-free operation even when a sudden power failure or an instantaneous low voltage condition occurs.

The PS365xA Series of industrial PCs are now available from Pro-face UK with a battery backup unit built in.

In the event of a mains power failure, power is supplied from the battery unit to protect the data.

The operating system is automatically switched to a standby/hibernation/shutdown setting on detection of the power failure.

This function ensures trouble-free operation even when a sudden power failure or an instantaneous low voltage condition occurs.

The unit monitors the battery for residual capacity, temperature and status (during charge/discharge) and then proceeds to shutdown processing during abnormal occurrences.

It also displays the overall battery replacement time and identifies whether battery replacement is necessary.
