Training database contains over 100 courses

A Powdermatrix product story

Database to identify important training courses for professionals that were previously hidden in the search engine jungle includes over 100 courses.

The Powdermatrix Faraday Partnership has created a training database that lets members search a list of professional development short courses offered by institutions including companies, universities and colleges.

While most of the courses included focus on technical subjects related to powders and particulates, there are a few on non-technical issues such as management.

Jon Binner, Professor of Ceramic Materials and Research Coordinator at Loughborough University, and Chairman of the Powdermatrix Training Committee, said: "The database is unique in that it provides easy access to these courses in one easy to search location".

"Many of the courses included in this database were previously buried so deep in web sites that even Google could not find them".

The database has passed the 100 mark in terms of the number of courses it contains.

It can be accessed via the members area of the Powdermatrix web site.

The database was developed by the Powdermatrix Training Committee whose primary function is to promote business-relevant postgraduate training.

This includes providing signposting to a mix of existing, relevant professional development short courses.

The committee also provides training for the Faraday Associates (PhD students and postdoctoral researchers associated with the Powdermatrix research programmes) to help them develop the skills for collaborative research projects and related activities.
