Technical datasheets on optical engineering
Precision-Optical Engineering has added three new titles to its series of technical datasheets.
Precision-Optical Engineering has added three new titles to its series of technical datasheets.
These datasheets are produced as PDF files and can be found by clicking on the technical library section on P-OE's website.
The latest datasheet on interferometry (IF002) applied to quality testing of optical components is entitled "Comparison of fringe analysis measurement statistics".
This makes a statistical comparison of multiple measurements made using static fringe analysis and phase shift analysis, showing the reduced spread in results obtained using phase shift techniques.
Two new publications have been introduced for diamond machining applications.
The first, DM002, entitled "Image slicers in integral field spectroscopy", covers the production of a mirror segmented in thin horizontal sections (slices) and its application in astronomy in the field of integral field spectroscopy.
The second, "Specifying a diffractive surface" (DM003), looks at the equations needed to specify diffractive optical elements on an aspheric surface.
Used primarily in medium wavelength infrared systems (MWIR) and long wavelength infra-red systems (LWIR), diffractive surfaces are routinely used to correct for chromatic aberration, thereby removing the requirement for at least one expensive colour correcting component.
