Potterton boilers for Birmingham Sikh temple
In one of its most prestigious projects of recent years, Potterton Commercial has supplied ten boilers for the new Sikh Temple in Soho, Birmingham.
The boilers, which replaced an old inefficient heating system, are situated in the extension boiler house - one of four on site.
The Prestige boilers will provide heating and hot water for the school's dining area; modern languages block; administration department, the Head Teacher's office and a separate three-storey teaching block.
The total area covered equates to some 5,000 square metres.
Sunderland City Council's Property Services' assistant building services engineer, Gordon Wilson said: "A competitive price and proven reliable high output cast iron boilers were key factors when specifying a new heating system.
Potterton not only satisfied our requirements on all counts, but the Prestige boiler was also able to provide the required output and easily fit into a very confined space with the boiler room." Measuring over 5.5 metres wide and 10 metres long, space within the boiler house was at a premium.
But help was at hand thanks to Potterton.
At 1193mm wide and 816mm long the Potterton Commercial Prestige is an atmospheric gas boiler with a fully electric control system.
Supplied with a high performance reliable cast iron heat exchanger, the boiler offers integral control panel and burner wiring as standard.
The control panel includes control thermostat, high/low thermostat, over heat thermostat and interlocks for Building Management Systems (BMS) controls.
With operating efficiency of 92% net and 83% gross the Prestige boiler offers NOx emission levels of less than 100mg/kW/hr.
All boilers within the Prestige range are supplied with a long-life guarantee on the heat exchanger.
City Construction Services installed the boilers supplied to Monkwearmouth School.
