High efficiency boilers keep the sales hot

A hot shop floor is what's in store for leading high street retailer, Gap, this winter thanks to boiler manufacturer, Potterton Commercial.

The Oxford Street outlet, which is the Gap's Maritime flagship store, occupies three floors of a seven-storey building and includes a total sales area of some 40,000 square feet, making installation of a reliable, high output heating system an important specification criteria.

Two Potterton Derwent Prestige high efficiency boilers have been installed in a seventh floor plant room offering both high performance - 92% net efficiency - and flexibility to meet the store's busy day-to-day operational demands.

Supplied complete with hi/lo burners and volt free contacts as standard, each boiler generates an output of 215kW (735,000 btu/h) and has the additional environmentally friendly benefit of featuring low emission burner technology.

The Derwent Prestige boiler boasts a low NOx rating of less than 100mg/kWh.

ACDP, GAP services consultants, says: "The store is one of GAP's flagship stores in the UK and it was important to provide efficient, quality boilers to heat the store.

"We have worked with Potterton Commercial for a number of years now and have always been impressed with product reliability, service and price.

On this particular project the heating system was put out to tender and it was no surprise to us that Potterton came out on top.

Their proposal was very competitively priced." All Derwent Prestige boilers are supplied with a standard one-year warranty, however the option of a lifetime guarantee is available.

The extended warranty covers the heat exchanger against manufacturing defect for a minimum period of 10 years.

The only necessary requirement to qualify for the guarantee is that Potterton assembles and commissions the boiler.

Both assembly and any necessary servicing of a Potterton boiler covered by the guarantee would be carried out by the Warwick based company's service personnel from one of their Regional Service Offices.
