Potterton boilers for Birmingham Sikh temple
In one of its most prestigious projects of recent years, Potterton Commercial has supplied ten boilers for the new Sikh Temple in Soho, Birmingham.
With an efficiency rating of 91% (net CV), the Potterton Isis is one of the most economical boilers available to the UK market, and offers a superb combined output of 440kW.
As well as meeting the latest European standards, they incorporate cast iron waterways with proven 'O' ring joints between sections and are available with a choice of fully matched and packaged burners.
The boilers are of the overpressure type with three pass, reverse flame design.
The first two passes in the combustion chamber, the third in the convection tubes where the turbulence to achieve the high heat transfer is generated by the extended surface area and inserts.
No induced draught fan is required.
Peter Dunn, facility manager for the British Tourist Authority, specified the Potterton Isis.
He says: "Potterton boilers were originally installed in this building in 1973 and it is purely down to their proven efficiency and reliability that we opted for a like for like replacement.
"This is a busy and well-populated office block, where space is very much at a premium, and minimum disruption a priority.
The compact design of the product, the ease with which it could be installed, and perhaps most crucially the highly competitive pricing, were key factors in our decision to stay loyal to the Potterton brand." The boilers were installed by local Potterton engineers and are fully supported by the company's excellent after-sales service team.
All Potterton Isis boilers are supplied with a lifetime guarantee on the heat exchanger, provided that a Potterton engineer assembles and commissions the boiler.
Both installation and any necessary servicing of a Potterton boiler covered by the guarantee would be carried out by the Warwick based company's service personnel from one of their Regional Services Offices.
