New from Potterton Commercial is a cost-effective alternative to the installation of new condensing boilers.

New from Potterton Commercial is a cost-effective alternative to the installation of new condensing boilers.

The Fumeco condensing heat recovery unit is designed to convert a standard gas boiler into a high performance, fully condensing unit, producing cost and emissions reductions comparable with those achieved by condensing boilers.

Describing the advantages of opting for heat recovery, Ken Percival, Potterton Commercial's director and general manager says: "With the introduction of the Climate Change Levy, commercial operations are seeing substantial increases in their energy costs and, not surprisingly, are looking at ways to mitigate these.

There is a growing tendency to assume that to achieve significant energy cost savings, you have to change the existing boilers for condensing versions, but this does not necessarily need to be the answer.

Well-engineered heat recovery solutions offer a cost-effective alternative enabling users to reap all the advantages of condensing without having to install a plant room full of new condensing boilers".

The Fumeco heat recovery units are designed for gas fired boilers, with or without fans, with outputs of 320 to 2800kW.

Made from high-grade stainless steel, they will recover up to 80% of the heat normally lost in the flue gases.

Slim and easy to install, the units are available in two versions: integral fan V type or unfanned S type.

The unfanned version suits applications where there is already a fan in the flue or where the boiler/burner unit is capable of sufficient over pressure to overcome the resistance of the Fumeco.

The units are supplied with versatile flue collectors that can be swivelled through 360 degrees for easy alignment on existing flue systems.

As well as producing immediate savings on energy costs, as well as reductions in emissions, the Fumeco units are recognised by the Enhanced Capital Allowances scheme, so 100% capital allowances can be claimed in the first year against any Fumeco installed.
