ASi is now well established in the process automation environment as a simple and effective way of reducing installation time, cabling and the costs associated with conventional wiring.
The Ex modules now enable a single two-wire ASi network to be installed in both safe and hazardous areas.
Modules are available with four outputs or with four inputs and two outputs.
Each unit incorporates a combination of protection methods, increased safety (EEx-e) for the connection to the ASi bus, encapsulation (EEx-m) for the module electronics and intrinsic safety (EEx-i) for the inputs and outputs.
