The latest AS-Interface Gateway from Pepperl+Fuchs can now save time and effort in fault finding when commissioning AS-Interface networks.

AS-Interface is well proven as an economical and robust system for the networking of sensors and actuators on the lowest field level, however the simple but common mistake of allocating the same address to two slaves on the same network can cause big headaches when it comes to commissioning AS-Interface installations.

The problem lies in the fact that current masters simply do not recognise the error and the result can be one of several scenarios ranging from no faults or intermittent faults through to permanent fault.

P+F's new generation of AS-Interface gateways have been designed detect this problem and display clear, concise error messages.
