A new AS-Interface module can be mounted directly in a Zone 2 (3G) or Zone 22 (3D) dust application.
A new AS-Interface module can be mounted directly in a Zone 2 (3G) or Zone 22 (3D) dust application.
The module has four inputs and two outputs and can be connected to similarly certified devices in the same zone.
Connection of the bus is via the traditional flat cable or alternatively by an M12 connector.
This innovative module will find new applications in sectors such as the pharmaceutical industry where, hazardous areas have been an obstacle to the adoption of the AS-Interface technology.
Pepperl+Fuchs reckons it is still the only manufacturer of a Zone 1 solution for AS-Interface.
