Linear code rail offers Ethernet interface

The WCS linear code rail system is now available with an Ethernet interface.

The WCS linear code rail system is now available with an Ethernet interface.

Using a metal or plastic code rail and an optical reader the WCS system provides positional information with an accuracy of 0.833mm over 327m.

It is ideal for positioning gantry cranes, overhead conveyor systems, high bay warehouse systems, lifts and elevators and AGVs.

The metal code rail needs only be installed at locations where positional information is needed and the system will read at up to 12.5m/s.

Because the rail is coded, no reference points are required and the system is immediately available even after a loss of power.

Connectivity is also provided for Profibus, Interbus, Devicenet, CANopen, SSI and parallel as well as Ethernet.
