Light tower uses LEDs to reduce costs

A Pepperl+Fuchs GB product story

Pepperl and Fuchs has introduced a light tower, the modular design of which offers engineers the choice of functionality and low cost.

The bayonet connection of each element has the facility to connect up to five lamps or sounders.

Lamp modules are available in a range of colours (red, green, yellow, blue and clear) and can be specified with a low-cost bulb option or with long-life 360 LED units offering 100,000 hours of operation time.

The long service life of LEDs ensures low maintenance operation and energy savings over standard light sources.

Flashing elements are also available in red or yellow, as are audible alarm modules with either 85 or 105dB (A).

The modules use a bayonet locking system and so can be easily assembled and disassembled without tools.

When assembled, the tower has an IP-rating of 65.

The tower can be conventionally wired, or the addition of an optional AS-Interface switching element enables a direct connection to an AS-Interface network.

When connected to a network, the tower can be powered from the network itself or via an auxiliary supply and will switch up to four elements.
