Pepperl+Fuchs has introduced the Fieldconnex Smartplant Symbol Library, designed for EPCs and plant builders looking to plan fieldbus segments or to keep documentation current.

The Fieldconnex Smartplant Symbol Library is an add-on that extends Smartplant software with Fieldconnex fieldbus infrastructure components, enabling users to plan more economically and efficiently.

The library includes verified standard symbols for all components of the Fieldconnex fieldbus infrastructure.

'The Fieldconnex fieldbus library incorporates Fieldconnex components and all custom connections to major DCS systems such as Emerson, Honeywell, Invensys and Yokogawa,' says Brian Traczyk, Pepperl+Fuchs product manager.

'These systems interface via special plugs and connectors with Fieldconnex Power Hubs,' he adds.

Smartplant Instrumentation software is used for planning, maintaining and documenting electrical installations.

It supports a fast, consistent, and targeted planning process and stores all relevant installation data in a central database.

The common data source contains all information about the electrical system and now includes the fieldbus infrastructure.
