Pepperl+Fuchs announces protection systems seminar

Pepperl+Fuchs is hosting a Purge/Pressurization Enclosure Protection Systems seminar on 21 October 2009, at the company's training facility in Houston, Texas.

This one-day educational training session will cover a range of topics including what purging is and how to determine the need, what is used to purge/pressurise an enclosure, what types of enclosures and devices can be purged, and accessing the equipment.

The class will also cover design standards, enclosure marking and design considerations, as well as pressurisation system designs and requirements for alarms, cut-offs, and so on.

At the conclusion of this course, attendees will: be able to define hazardous area classifications and their associated certification requirements; understand the difference between the types of protection and their uses; understand NFPA and ISA design standards; understand pressurisation system designs and how to choose the appropriate system; understand typical applications for purge and pressurisation systems.

Classes run from 8:00am until 5:00pm.

Attendees will receive a certificate for Professional Development Hours upon completion of the course.

Pepperl+Fuchs will be hosting additional process automation seminars at its Houston facility throughout 2009, including: Foundation Fieldbus Segment Design - 22 July, 16 September and 18 November; and The Fundamentals of Intrinsic Safety (Ex) - 19 August.
