Compact cameras provide a versatile solution
The Impact Vision Program Manager (VPM) offers more than 120 tools, including OCR, blob analysis, circle gauge, circular pattern find, line find and sub-pixel gauging.
Compact camera includes versatile software
The Impact A20 is rugged yet compact, offering high-performance on-board image processing, a digital imaging sensor, real-time I/O and 256Mbyte of on-board memory.
"Previously, users of low-priced machine vision have been limited by systems that only support a few basic cameras", stated Joe Christenson, President of PPT Vision.
"With Impact CL, vision system users can leverage the Camera Link open standard, and now have the flexibility to choose from a broad range of camera formats and vendors, including line-scan, colour and high-resolution cameras".
With the introduction of Impact in September 2002, PPT Vision created a new vision industry category with the first micro-system solutions that made high performance inspection tools available at a much lower price.
Since then, Impact has been widely acclaimed with successful installations in packaging, medical device, automotive, electronics and semiconductor applications.
"Manufacturers have embraced our low-cost Impact machine vision microsystem because the performance and flexibility of our Impact hardware and Inspection Builder software provide the most cost-effective vision solution on the market", added Christenson.
"Now Impact CL further enhances this flexibility and performance by supporting third-party machine vision cameras from leaders in the camera industry".
Camera Link is an open digital camera standard for machine vision applications, previously available only for high-cost, heavily-customised framegrabber-based applications.
The Automated Imaging Association (AIA) sponsors the Camera Link certification programme including the oversight Camera Link Committee and product registry.
All major industrial camera suppliers have obtained certification for a range of digital Camera Link cameras.
Impact CL is available for immediate shipment.
