PinQY claims to be the smallest extinguisher

A Pinqy product story

PinQY claims that the fire extinguisher that it manufactures - and sells under the same name - is the smallest fire extinguisher in the world.

PinQY claims that the fire extinguisher that it manufactures - and sells under the same name - is the smallest fire extinguisher in the world.

However, PinQY complies with the same regulations as every other fire extinguisher has to, and those regulations are very difficult to obtain.

PinQY is a 3A (ordinary), 13B (oil and fluids) and class C (gas: fi propane) powder extinguisher with an extinguishing capacity of 3.5 to 4 seconds.

If you are in any doubt about the extinguisher's capabilities, take a look at the movies on the company's website.

In these moves, people were filmed (by use of a handycam) extinguishing a fire for the first time in their lives.

Note that no propane was shut off to simulate extinguishment.

If further confirmation is required, PinQY can put you in touch with the firefighters who were present during the filming.

The PinQY extinguisher is supported by big insurance companies in Europa to promote fire safety in the home.

About 95 per cent of American and European households do not have an extinguisher at home.

And if they should have one, the chances are that it is hidden in the garage or in a cupboard.

The PinQY extinguisher is designed so that it can be put where it belongs.

For instance, in the kitchen, where it can be seen and used immediately.

Note that the extinguisher's capacity is not as important as the response time.

If you cannot react immediately when you see a fire starting (in your kitchen, for example) then the advice from PinQY is to leave the building and call the fire brigade.

If you cannot grab an extinguisher immediately that you see a fire starting, no extinguisher will help at all - not even a 10kg extinguisher.

The new design is intended to enable people to put an extinguisher in the neighbourhood of a potential fire hazard and react immediately.

With 3.5 to 4 seconds you have got time enough.

More details are available on the website - and remember to take a look at the movies.
