Isolation modules keep measurement safe

A ProMinent Fluid Controls (UK) product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Apr 15, 2002

ProMinent Fluid Controls has secured an exclusive distribution arrangement in the UK for the Knick range of electrical isolation modules.

Following the recent agreement for the worldwide distribution of Knick portable pH and conductivity meters and industrial process analysers, ProMinent Fluid Controls is delighted to announce an exclusive distribution arrangement in the UK for the Knick range of electrical isolation modules.

These isolation modules are used for the transmission of measurement and control signals in industrial plants in a variety of applications.

These include measurement at dangerously high voltages, or in areas where there is an explosion hazard.

They may also be used where there are different ground potentials or where high common mode voltages to not allow connection of the measuring signals with other plant assemblies.

Knick potential isolating components are available in a variety of designs, including modular cases, Eurocards, terminal housings and modules.

Depending on the model, the measuring signals are amplified or converted to standard 10V or 20mA values, allowing voltages of a few millivolts up to 3000V and currents of a few microamps up to 5A to be processed with high accuracy.
