Proces-Data has added three new analogue I/O module types to its family of M36 DIN-rail-mounted process control modules.

These additions complement the versatile range of digital I/O types and programmable controller/bridges (DPIs) already available.

The PD 640 provides four channels for 0/4-20mA input signals, two of which can also be used as current outputs.

The PD 641 is a three-channel device, which can be configured for connection to either Pt100 or Pt1000 platinum resistance temperature sensors.

The PD 642 is a module providing four channels for measuring 0-100mV signals, or for temperature measurement using a wide range of thermocouple types.

Each module type has the ability to manually or automatically scale input signals into chosen engineering units.

Each channel can also provide configurable status flags for indication of user settable level alarms or range transitions.

M36 modules are formed into customised devices by clipping individual digital, analogue and programmable types together onto a DIN rail.

Power is applied to each via a single clip-in bus strip.

Local fieldbus communication within a cluster of modules is performed via light pipes.

Such devices are distributed throughout a process plant or building, or within a machine, and are connected and communicate together using the P-NET fieldbus (IEC61158/4).
