Premotec has expanded its brushless DC motor family with the introduction of the new 12-watt BL48, 4-wire version.

Each motor in the BL48 family provides brushless technology at a price normally associated with brushed motor technology.

Exhibiting very low EMI, the BL48 is supplied with fully integrated drive electronics in 12 and 24 volt versions.

However, the BL48 is now available in a 12-watt version with either two or four wires.

This allows the user the possibility of control of motor speed over a wider range and provides a motor speed signal enabling use within a closed loop control system.

These motors feature a 12-pole external rotor and 9-coil iron core stator within a motor diameter of only 54.

At 36mm long, the 12-watt version is only 6mm longer than the 8-watt BL48.

Smooth, constant speeds up to 4300 rpm are ensured by the external rotor and service-free life in excess of 20,000 hours can be obtained due to the use of high quality ball bearings and the absence of mechanical brushes.

Further integration into customer applications such as laboratory stirrers, medical and industrial pumps, H.V.A.C can be provided through combination with a wide range of long-life spur and planetary gearboxes, custom mounting flanges, alternative shaft configurations, and addition of customer-specified components.
