Protex Fasteners is launching a range of high-quality, stainless steel turn latches, handles and accessories for suppliers of transit and storage boxes and cases

Protex Fasteners Ltd is using its 50 years' experience in manufacturing a huge range of lever-action overcentre fasteners for enclosures of all types to launch a range of high-quality, stainless steel turn latches, handles and accessories for suppliers of transit and storage boxes and cases designed to protect valuable and sensitive equipment.

This can mean computer racking; musical and scientific instruments; art treasures; portable test, measurement, analyser and optical equipment; weapons and munitions; floodlights; video and still cameras; or similar items.

Their containers are used where full protection but easy access are deemed essential in tough and hostile conditions in industry, research, the arts, IT and telecommunications, warfare or general transportation.

Characteristic of Protex stainless steel case fittings are the recessed fasteners and handles for close-proximity transportation and storage, where space is limited.

Thus the turn latches are low-profile and space-saving, are designed to prevent accidental opening, and can be supplied in a split, recessed plate for use on containers not requiring high closing loads.

The Protex patented turn latch model 62-674 allows an uninterrupted rubber seal and leaves the waist rail extrusion intact.

The model 62-674 is very secure, featuring a rotary action which prevents accidental opening of the latch.

Its claw lifts away and moves upwards smoothly when opened.

Other latches are turned by means of a coin or accept a padlock.

Protex stainless steel handles for light, medium or heavy duty use on boxes and cases can be spring-loaded and flush-fitting for safety and convenience - tough yet comfortable.

Accessories include corner protectors in various sizes, corner reinforcing brackets, strut hinges and recessed lid stays.
