A watertight case for underwater filming
A company supplying underwater cameras for film and TV has specified Protex model 61-655 quick-action, screw-adjustable, draw latches in stainless steel for camera housings.
With common use in pairs or series, typical applications will include securing enclosures and runs of cable and wire ducting and trunking for electrical, telecomms and computer installations throughout industry and commerce.
Measuring 47 mm long by 17 mm deep by 24 mm wide (base) or 17.5 mm wide (claw), the ingenious 62-1077 turn latch weighs just 30 g and yet boasts a breaking strength - impressive for its size - of 66 kgf (647 newtons).
Protex model 62-1077 is either riveted or welded onto the work surface.
It can be supplied with a mating steel catchplate, or, as pictured here, the claw hooks over a sheet metal lip to fasten down one section of cable trunking onto another.
The quick-release feature will make "in situ" replacement or maintenance of cabling and wiring harnesses much easier, faster and more efficient.
