The paper dealt with the use of sound waves at different wavelengths to enable powders and other dry materials to flow more easily and to prevent material build up from occurring within key plant areas in a wide range of dry process industries, especially the cement and power generation industries.
Bergus commented on how excited the Indian cement industry was about the company's acoustic cleaners and how keen the Indians were to acquire this innovative technology which is extensively employed within the UK and Europe.
The Indian market is now the currently the company's second largest export market, especially within the cement and petrochemical industries.
"The fact that we won best paper against a host of other technical papers presented by universities and other, much larger multinational companies makes us particularly pleased and is a good indication of how Cumbrian high-tech companies are producing engineering innovations which in time receives international admiration and recognition".
