High-performance Perlast perfluoroelastomer seals are now available in Pharmacopoeia USP Class VI compliant grades for pharmaceutical and food equipment manufacturers.

High performance Perlast perfluoroelastomer seals are now available in Pharmacopoeia USP Class VI compliant grades for pharmaceutical and food equipment manufacturers and makers of biomedical research equipment.

The Perlast G70S grade increases the scope for greater process plant flexibility and productivity.

Perlast G70S is an FDA compliant white perfluoroelastomer offering excellent chemical resistance, steam resistance and mechanical properties between -15 and +260C, in static and dynamic sealing applications.

"Perlast is the elastomer of choice for active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturers looking to increase plant utilisation using perfluoroelastomer seals.

Meeting the USP Class VI standard in addition to its existing FDA status makes the case for using Perlast even more compelling", says David Holt, Perlast Business Manager.

Perlast is manufactured by Precision Polymer Engineering (PPE).

PPE specialises in the development and rapid manufacture of standard and nonstandard seals for companies in chemical, pharmaceutical and food manufacture.

Typical uses of Perlast in pharmaceutical manufacture include seals for mixing vessels, total containment intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) and chromatography equipment for drug purification.

In addition to Perlast G70S, PPE offers EPDM elastomer grades: E70Q and E50Q meet the Pharmacopoeia USP Class VI standard for less aggressive production processes.
