High performance seals specialist Precision Polymer Engineering has received a Queen's Award for Innovation for its Perlast G67P perfluoroelastomer material.

High performance seals specialist Precision Polymer Engineering (PPE) has received a Queen's Award for Innovation for its Perlast G67P perfluoroelastomer material Perlast is widely acknowledged to be the world's leading perfluoroelastomer range for sealing critical applications in complex industries such as wafer production operations within semiconductor manufacturing

Developed over the last 8 years, Perlast G67P exhibits a combination of excellent chemical and temperature resistance, first-rate mechanical properties and high purity that are crucial in applications where contamination of any degree is unacceptable.

Other markets which can benefit from the use of this pure material are found in the bio-analytical sector, such as gene technology, where even microcontaminates within the process can distort evaluation and results.

Peter Cloney, Managing Director, Precision Polymer Engineering commented: "We are delighted to have won The Queen's Award".

"It's a huge surprise and a great honour".

"Innovation is a central part of what we do".

"More than anything else, our objective is to create leading-edge technology in materials for sealing applications".

"We have an exceptional team of chemists and research scientists at PPE who have skillfully blended fluorine chemistry knowledge with PPE's proprietary polymer science and knowledge management capabilities".

"In doing so, we created a powerful solution which offers a vast array of users substantial benefits in sealing technology".
