UK's second Profibus Competence Centre

Following a visit from Profibus expert Manfred Popp on 2 May 2001, University of Wales College Newport was confirmed as Wales' first and the UK's second Profibus Competence Centre (PCC).
Following a visit from Profibus expert Manfred Popp on 2 May 2001, University of Wales College Newport was confirmed as Wales' first and the UK's second Profibus Competence Centre (PCC) Equipped with a substantial multi-vendor Profibus DP and PA demonstration system, the Centre will become a valuable resource to Profibus users not only in Wales but also much of the rest of the UK

The fifth annual UK Profibus and Profinet User Conference will combine the conference with practical workshops and and exhibition featuring many live demonstrations.
Not only will It help to satisfy the increasing demand for Profibus training but will also be able to provide independent consultancy on Profibus applications.
Starting May 2001 UWCN will be running a regular schedule of Profibus PA training courses alongside their already established DP courses.
Each PA course will last for two days and involve a great deal of hands-on practical work using industrial standard controllers, software and field instrumentation.
The UWCN PCC joins 21 other competency centres to be accredited world-wide since the scheme was introduced less than 2 years ago.
