The Profibus Group will be participating at MTEC 2006 in Birmingham during February by presenting a short session in the Technology Centre in Industrial Networks - for Fieldbus and Open Systems.

The economic benefits of Profibus are widely known and accepted across a wide range of industries, however these benefits extend far beyond savings in installation costs.

This presentation overviews techniques that are available for fault-finding and predictive maintenance on operational Profibus systems.

The presentation "Techniques for fault-finding and maintenance of plant equipment over Profibus" will include a live demonstration of modern fault-finding tools on a working Profibus network.

The presenter will be Andy Verwer, who runs the Automation Systems Centre at Manchester Metropolitan University, which is the UK's registered Profibus Competency Centre.

The Profibus Group will also be participating in the exhibition with a new multivendor demonstration system designed, built and operated by the team from the Profibus Competence Centre at MMU.
