When Roche started construction of a new 25,000 tonne per annum vitamin E production plant in 2001 the decision was made to use fieldbus technology.
The Certified Profibus Installer Course is for electrical engineers and technicians needing to upgrade their skills to include fieldbus installation.
It is a one-day, hands-on course that teaches the design, installation and testing of complete Profibus networks including DP/FMS, PA and optical fibre technology.
Covering bus layout and termination, grounding rules and practices, the course teaches delegates how to avoid common, but potentially expensive, installation problems.
It is the ideal basis for the newly introduced Profibus Commissioning Course that covers the practical techniques of faultfinding on "operational" Profibus networks including the use of modern Profibus analysers and Class-II master engineering tools to diagnose network faults, device faults and I/O problems.
Students also learn how to use a soft digital storage oscilloscope in conjunction with these tools to diagnose and accurately locate cable, connection and device faults.
The Certified Open-PLC Engineer Training is a 3-day course covering Open-PLC programming using the international standard IEC61131-3.
It is designed for Engineers and Technicians who want to gain a recognised qualification in open-PLC programming using IEC61131-3.
The course is suitable for experienced programmers who wish to move to IEC61131-3 compliant systems.
An ideal lead in to this course is the Basic PLC Programming Course which is designed for those with no previous programming experience, covering basic ladder and function block programming.
All these courses can be presented at customers premises for groups of six to 10 or 12 trainees.
