Jargon buster cuts through the ATEX jungle
ABB has published an "ATEX jargon buster" that helps motor users cut through the jungle of terms and definitions that make up the new ATEX Directives.
Leicestershire based innovation company Pera is responsible for managing the helpline, the first point of contact with the service for most users.
With a long history of involvement in Framework funding, Pera is well placed to offer information and practical advice on submitting successful funding applications.
In addition, Pera will be providing strategic input and expert analysis of the UK position.
Consortium partners are Lancashire based theglasgowsgroup, which will deliver the PR, publications, branding and event management elements of the contract and Cheshire based j4b which is developing the website http://fp6uk.ost.gov.uk and supporting database.
John Hill, Managing Director of Pera Innovation commented: "Working within the regions and with industry directly, Pera has helped more companies to access framework programme funding than any other organisation in Europe.
We hope we can now also contribute our experience and expertise to help a much broader range of organisations across the UK by adding further value to the sterling efforts of the UK's National contact points".
With a budget of more than Eur 17 billion to fund R and D projects, The Sixth Framework Programme undoubtedly offers many opportunities for UK businesses.
However, potential participants, particularly SMEs often don't have the time to hunt around to find out how to access the funding, or indeed identify which area is most appropriate for their needs.
The new service will ease this task, not only guiding them through the process, but also where relevant by pointing them to more appropriate sources of funding.
