System streamlines design process
The ProSTEP iViP Recommendation PSI 3-2 (Draft) is available for download free of charge on the website of the ProSTEP iViP Association
It is important that automotive product changes are quickly communicated to everyone involved, from development, planning and manufacturing This change process needs to be organised according to a defined change process

ProSTEP iViP Science Days 2005, was held this year under the motto 'Cross-Domain Engineering'.
A very important part of engineering change management (ECM) is the handling of change orders.
"Our objective was to define processes that allow all partners to handle change orders in the product creation process in a seamless and traceable manner".
"The ProSTEP iViP Recommendation on ECO is an effective tool for a frictionless implementation of change orders, allowing us to reduce time and costs", according to Project Leader Jurgen Scharpf of Daimler.
The PSI 3-2 has not yet been validated in industry pilots but has been released as a draft.
Interested companies arewelcome to participate in the validation of PSI 3-2.
