Upgrade for heat-exchanger design module
ProSim has released a new version of Simulis Thermodynamics, its software component dedicated to thermophysical properties calculation.
ProSim has released a new version of Simulis Thermodynamics, its software component dedicated to thermophysical properties calculation and available as an MS-Excel add-in, a Matlab toolbox or as a module pluggable in any other software that requires quality thermophysical properties This new version integrates additional calculation capabilities for properties (fugacity, internal energy), news flashes (temperature-volume, enthalpy-internal energy, internal energy-volume), as well as derivatives of available properties, with respect to temperature, pressure, or mole number

Thermodynamics package passes the test
Since its release late last year, Simulis Thermodynamics has undergone intensive testing by the Cape-Open Laboratories Network and by major players in the process simulation field.
Thermodynamics software gives free Flash drive
Until the end of November, ProSim is offering a free gift with every order for its Simulis Thermodynamics software utility.
Additionally, Simulis Thermodynamics now offers the ability to automatically generate PSF (Process Simulation File) files, directly usable by the Aspen TASC (HTFS) software, for heat exchanger calculations.
These files contain properties for liquid and vapour phases such as specific heat, molecular weight, viscosity, thermal conductivity or surface tension, tabled with respect to temperature and pressure.
For diphasic mixtures, Simulis Thermodynamics provides enthalpy data such as temperature, pressure, enthalpy and vapour ratio.
Particularly relevant for exchanger manufacturers and their customers, this new feature allows TASC users with a limited thermodynamic database to access one of the richest thermodynamic packages available and enhance the quality of their exchangers' design calculations at reasonable price.
