Process modelling environment links with CFD
Process Systems Enterprise has released a novel tool that allows users of computational fluid dynamics packages to model complex reaction systems in its gPROMS process modelling environment.
John de Brugha, PSE's Head of Sales and Marketing, says: "The USA is already PSE's largest and most important market, and home to major customers such as Dow Chemicals, United Technologies and Procter and Gamble.
We are putting a lot of effort into developing a local sales and consulting presence to allow us to work more closely both with our existing customers and the many process industry companies who will be able to benefit from PSE's advanced technology in the future.
This is an essential component in our continuing strategy of providing a local presence in all our key markets".
PSE customers use the gPROMS modelling platform for advanced process modelling applications, particularly in complex reaction and separation and fuel cell areas, to optimise design and operations against economic objectives.
ModelEnterprise is an asset optimisation platform that answers business questions such as "how do I obtain maximum return from a multipurpose plant" or "where is the optimal location to site a new production facility".
Manager Mike Hill holds a BSC in chemical engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
He has 10 years' experience in simulation and process modelling within the refining and chemicals industries, working for Parsons Engineering, SimSci and Aspen Technology.
Hill's experience includes both technology and business development positions, in both the process modelling and business optimisation areas.
