Quick start for product data management

PTC has strengthened its Windchill web-based collaboration and control offering with the introduction of a new quick start solution called Windchill PDMLink.

With Windchill PDMLink and the other Windchill Quick Start Solutions, PTC gives companies of all sizes a range of new and effective Windchill deployment options to quickly address the most critical business challenges they encounter.

Windchill PDMLink is the latest installment in PTC's comprehensive, integrated family of solutions based on Windchill technology.

Other prepackaged, rapidly deployable Windchill quick start solutions now available include: Windchill ProjectLink, Windchill PartsLink and Windchill DynamicDesignLink.

Windchill applications such as Windchill Foundation, Windchill PDM and Windchill ProductView complete the Windchill suite, and provide the flexibility to accommodate unique customer deployment requirements.

Windchill represents a critical element of PTC's on-going commitment to support "product first", a comprehensive business strategy where manufacturing companies adopt a single-minded focus on superior products in order to drive revenue growth and shareholder value.

A tremendous amount of information is generated during the product development process and throughout the lifecycle of a product.

As the single source of product information for the enterprise, Windchill product data management systems are used to capture, aggregate, and manage product information from many sources - including a variety of CAD formats - making it easy for people beyond engineering to add value to the product development process, and enabling enterprises to bring order and control to the product development process.

With its quick start implementation option, Windchill PDMLink represents a breakthrough in the deployment of PDM.

Windchill PDMLink can easily be combined with other Windchill solutions and with Pro/Engineer, PTC's market leading 3D product development solution, to meet the full range of creation, collaboration and control needs across the product lifecycle.

Windchill PDMLink's quick start service implementation package delivers results fast by collapsing the technology implementation and deployment process to as few as five weeks.

The quick start service package is a prescriptive, fixed-cost approach that allows PTC Global Services to quickly plan, install, configure, personalise and train administrators.

Bruce Jenkins, executive vice president market analyst firm, Daratech, states, "Windchill PDMLink's promise of out-of-the-box, instant-on PDM, combined with a fixed-price, five-week implementation, could mark a new era for PDM.

Manufacturers that want to begin laying the foundation for product lifecycle management as rapidly as possible should look closely at PTC's new offering".

To supplement the quick start technology implementation package, PTC's premier enterprise consulting partners, such as Accenture, Andersen, Cap Gemini Ernst and Young, CSC, Deloitte Consulting, Hewlett-Packard Consulting, KPMG and TRW offer complementary service offerings to ensure that the customer fully leverages the power of Windchill throughout their business processes.
