Compact compressor to boost hydrogen
Peter Brotherhood has won a contract to supply TotalFinaElf's Lindsey Oil Refinery with a GBP 600,000 reciprocating gas compressor system.
It will generate 9MW of electricity from steam created from burning bagasse, the waste material left after the processing of sugar cane.
The electricity generated will be used to power the mill and the exhaust steam will be used in the sugar refining process - making it a particularly 'environmentally friendly' form of power generation.
The turbine will be supplied complete with a gearbox oil system and control panel and will be delivered during the second quarter of 2003.
Engineers from Peter Brotherhood will install and commission the system.
Peter Brotherhood delivered its first turbo alternator set to Mtibwa Mill in 1977 and has continued to provide equipment to the factory as it has been extended and modernised.
