Pantek's Smart Manufacturing 2001 event will present a valuable insight into manufacturing management trends and the technology to enable production improvements

Pantek's Smart Manufacturing 2001 event will be dual-stranded, under the theme of Collaborative Manufacturing, presenting a valuable insight into manufacturing management trends and the technology to enable production improvements The two-day programme includes major keynote presentations and discussions about Collaborative Manufacturing, Pantek's new Business Consultancy initiative, explanations about Wonderware's product developments and new Windows 2000 topologies in real-time manufacturing information and control

In addition to Pantek, speakers from ARC, Microsoft and Wonderware will present market research that has developed the Collaborative Manufacturing focus and views of the latest software capabilities that allow the system connectivity required in the application of collaborative manufacturing.

Beyond the keynote presentations the programme allows a selection of various breakout sessions according to each delegate's interests.

These have been arranged with some duplication to avoid mutual exclusivity.

The dual themes of management and technology are picked up and expanded upon in these sessions.

These breakout sessions will allow an informal relaxed approach to the various subjects that need to be addressed to allow real-time information to be gathered, reported, disseminated and made to contribute to a company's competitive position.

This is the key opportunity to gather information about issues that are affecting you and your organisation today and in the future.

Breakout sessions are one hour in duration and offer an informal environment in which to view, discuss and experience current developments in manufacturing technology.

Topics will include: For management delegates, the business-view of collaborative manufacturing, the evolution of Wonderware FactorySuite to meet this method, a discrete manufacturing application, the management reporting of manufacturing activities, Wonderware FactorySuite for non-technical delegates that need an assessment of its business advantage, the Climate Change Levy through the utilisation of real-time data, lowering total cost of ownership through Terminal Services, and a new approach to asset management.

For technology delegates, new connectivity methods to PLC's and IO devices, the methodology and technology to enable e-manufacturing, new batch solutions, a key new technology - Terminal Services, and the Wonderware FactorySuite Roadmap - showing how the evolution of the product takes account of user requirements for Collaborative Manufacturing.

There will be multiple sessions of the Product Tour and an opportunity to informally meet the experts, which will be available throughout the event.

The dual strand of this important event makes attendance equally appropriate for Manufacturing Management Professionals, Plant Managers, IT Managers, Application Engineers, Project Managers Energy Controllers and Asset Managers.

The dual approach is designed to allow for both individual focus and to encourage useful dialogue between all those involved in manufacturing with the shared aim of contributing to improvement and competitiveness.

Users and future users of Wonderware and other Pantek services will find the event equally beneficial.

Venue is the Belton Woods Hotel, Grantham, UK, 3rd-4th October 2001.
