Wonderware's InTouch software has received top honours from Frost and Sullivan for its innovative technology features.

Wonderware's InTouch software has received top honours from Frost and Sullivan for its innovative technology features.

Wonderware's InTouch human-machine interface (HMI) software received the industry research firm's product innovation award.

Frost and Sullivan recognised InTouch 9.0 software for its use of Wonderware SmartSymbols, which reduce the time spent creating, modifying, validating and revalidating applications while increasing engineering productivity and application flexibility.

The award is presented annually to the company that has demonstrated excellence within its industry by offering new products and technology that exemplify technological innovation, significance to the industry, competitive advantage and industry acceptance.

"Frost and Sullivan believes that Wonderware is a deserving recipient of the product innovation award in the worldwide HMI products and software market for 2005", said Sathyajit Rao, Frost and Sullivan Industry Manager.

"By continuing to enhance its product offerings, Wonderware has maintained its leadership position in the worldwide HMI software market".

"The success of the InTouch 9.0 HMI only confirms Wonderware's reputation as the most innovative company in the HMI software space".

"Wonderware's drive for innovation in its market is continuous and uncompromising".

By incorporating Wonderware SmartSymbols into InTouch 9.0 visualisation software, users experience significantly reduced application engineering, testing and deployment time.

Wonderware SmartSymbols integrate object-oriented technology with InTouch graphics and transform them into reusable templates.

Changes made to the templates automatically propagate throughout an application - even across multiple networked PC nodes.

As a result, engineers can significantly reduce the time they spend creating, modifying and deploying applications.

In addition, InTouch 9.0 software is "Integrated with ArchestrA", which means that it leverages the integration attributes of ArchestrA technology, enabling increased diagnostics and security capabilities, simplified communications deployment, remote configuration and the unification of devices and networks.

The integration benefits offered by ArchestrA technology empower users to define equipment templates and associated symbols once and then reuse them multiple times during application development.

This leads to tremendous engineering efficiency.

"Frost and Sullivan's recognition of Wonderware's industry-leading research and development efforts enhances our goal of providing the most efficient technology available to the plant automation industry", said Renee Brandt, Product Manager for Wonderware's visualisation products.

"The addition of Wonderware SmartSymbols, in particular, helps our customers markedly reduce the time spent on software maintenance, giving them more time to concentrate on improving their production and performance management capabilities".

"In addition, customers are pleased that they can leverage the benefits of Wonderware SmartSymbols throughout their existing applications with minimal effort".

"Customer adoption of Wonderware's world-famous InTouch software continues to increase".

The Frost and Sullivan award is among several product awards Wonderware has received recently.

These include Control Engineering magazine's selection of InTouch 9.0 software for its 2004 "Editors' Choice Award" and the number-one ranking of the InTouch HMI for 11 years in a row as part of Control magazine's 2004 "Readers' Choice Awards".
