Wonderware has released version 2.1 of its Industrial Application Server plant information and automation platform, expanding the capabilities of the underlying Archestra technology.
Wonderware, part of Invensys Systems, has released version 2.1 of its Industrial Application Server (IAS) plant information and automation platform, expanding the capabilities of the underlying Archestra technology.
Version 2.1 provides features that let application developers, system integrators and IT professionals build supervisory HMI, Scada and production and performance management systems.
It also includes multiple engineering productivity additions including a user-defined object template, alarm filtering capabilities and a history-browsing environment.
IAS has been used for more than 700 projects across dozens of industries worldwide.
It can reduce the cost of designing, building, deploying and maintaining industrial software applications.
The embedded Archestra architecture provides a toolkit for plant automation and information application requirements along with the ability to reuse and deploy best engineering practices.
As well as supporting English-language Microsoft platforms, IAS 2.1 supports Japanese, Chinese, French and German versions of Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and SQL Server database software.
Version 2.1 provides capabilities for managing groups of Intouch visualisation nodes, both in development and in run-time.
The consolidation of alarm definitions and alarm detection simplifies the development and maintenance of system-wide alarms and operator notifications.
It combines the flexibility and power of a peer-to-peer architecture with the ability to make global changes behind the scenes.
Benefits include reuse of application engineering from plant to plant, the freedom to develop distributed applications without redesign, and the ability to manage expansion, system changes and ongoing maintenance.
IAS is sold and supported in the UK and Ireland by Stockport based Pantek.
