Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 6, 2008

UK event is part of the global Wonderware programme of conferences being held in more than 20 locations throughout the USA, Latin America, Europe and Asia.

Wonderware United Kingdom has announced Xchange 2008 - a major residential user conference and industry networking event to be held at the Alton Towers Conference Centre on 4th and 5th November 2008.

The event, cosponsored by upstream technology organisations as well as downstream integration partners, is part of the global Wonderware programme of conferences being held in more than 20 locations throughout the USA, Latin America, Europe and Asia.

Key deliverables for delegates will be the ability to meet with fellow manufacturing industry professionals, share real-life experiences, learn from the success of others and thereby be better placed to deliver value to their organisations.

Xchange 2008 will be organised around keynote, general and streamed breakout sessions, allowing delegates to navigate through the two day event and select topics of interest, yet still find time to network with colleagues.

Delegates will be able to get close to the software via hands-on workshops run by expert Wonderware trainers, armed with the latest Visualisation, Historian and Information Server software.

These sessions will introduce users to the breadth of the Wonderware range and to new and soon to be released functionality.

Xchange 2008 will be themed around lean manufacturing and operational excellence, with particular focus on topics such as: understanding best practice; the challenges of MES and the real time enterprise; and what's new and coming soon from Wonderware.

The event will also include sessions detailing specimen applications built around current industry hot topics as well as an entire stream devoted to Wonderware vision for new ways of working.

The aim is to stimulate ideas, provoke debate and provide a forum that will appeal to manufacturing managers, information technology professionals, operations managers, engineering personnel and industry professionals at all levels.

John Bailey, Managing Director of Wonderware United Kingdom, commented on Xchange 2008: "We received huge customer satisfaction scores for our 2006 event, so the brief for Alton Towers in November was really quite simple: more delegates, more hands-on experiences, more networking time and more content relevant to current real-life industrial challenges".

Alton Towers is the UK's premier theme park attraction and it has a modern and purpose built conference centre.

Centrally located and large enough to comfortably accommodate hundreds of delegates, exhibitors and sponsors, Alton Towers has many years experience hosting significant residential conferences such as Xchange 2008.
