Microprocessor-controlled duty/standby/assist control panel has plug-in connections for use with twin pump sets transferring from a bulk to a day tank or similar intermediate storage vessel.

The PE twin pump controller is a compact, self-contained microprocessor-controlled, duty/standby/assist control panel with plug-in connections for use with twin pump sets transferring from a bulk to a day tank or similar intermediate storage vessel.

Manufactured by Pump Engineering, these modular construction units are designed to enable all sequencing and control to be carried out by the microprocessor which reduces the need for large numbers of discrete components.

All the features required for safe and effective fluids control are incorporated in the unit, for example, tank level controls, bund/seal leakage detection, BMS (building management interface) and fire system interface.

Other features include automatic pump changeover with alternate starting sequence, auto/off/manual facility for each pump, bulk tank level controls with low/low pump protection, providing local LED, sounder indication and remote alarm signal.

Also included are day tank level controls with high/low level alarms with local LED, sounder indication, remote alarm signal and building management system including a fire cutoff.

The controllers are housed within a compact, epoxy-coated steel enclosure measuring 400 x 500 x 150mm and can be powered by standard 240V/50Hz supply (413V/50Hz three-phase and 110V/50Hz are also available).

Optional extras include additional volt-free contacts for external equipment, internal RCDs interlocked with pump changeover and an alarm in the event of a pump failure.

For critical systems, a remote dialler can be fitted which can send a text message to a mobile phone anywhere in the world.

Typical applications for PE twin pump controllers include tank filling and emptying, fuel transfer systems and booster sets and pressure or flow control of pumps on ring mains.
