Eight new Omni sensors have been added to the programmable Honsberg Omni range of secure programmable sensors for flow, level, temperature and pressure, available in the UK from Pressure Vacuum Level of Crowborough.

The Omni system provides full protection of the programmed data to prevent unauthorised tampering with systems and processes.

New Omni sensors include the Omni-Fin, a calorimetric flow sensor , the Omni-HD1K, HD1KV and HR1MV inline piston flow sensors, the Omni-L, an ultrasonic level sensor, the Omni-LC, a float level sensor, the Omni-RR, a rotor-based flow sensor and the Omni-RRT, a turbine-based flow sensor.

All these and the rest of the range of Omni sensors can be seen on the PVL website.

Each of the range of stainless steel Omni sensors is rated IP67 and has an LCD display 35mm in diameter protected by tough mineral glass which shows the range of the sensor, set points and programming parameters and includes a super-bright LED alarm signal.

Around the circular LCD display is a programming ring containing an integral magnet which can be operated even when wearing protective gloves.

The programming ring makes it possible to display the parameters (for example set points) at position 1, and to alter them at position 2.

Turn the programming ring through 180, or remove it altogether, and the programming is totally protected.

During installation and programming, Omni sensors provide a commissioning mode which simulates the appropriate analogue signal for the installation.

This is variable between 0 and 26mA and greatly simplifies precise commissioning.

Each sensor has two switches which can be simply set to NPN or PNP, with independent hysteresis of switch 1 and switch 2 plus short circuit and reverse power protection.

All Omni sensors provide 4-20mA variable current or voltage outputs and can act as threshold alarms or as transmitters.
