Lower cost pressure switches for hazardous areas
PSM Exia and PSP Exia conform to EEx ia IIC T6 and are therefore approved for use in Zones 0, 1 and 2 if used with a suitable zener or galvanic barrier.
The Emco side-entry level switch uses a Type A mounting flange and has standard M20 x 1.5mm cable gland connections.
Manufactured from stainless steel, it is tested to 100bar pressure and can operate in liquids at 225C and ambient temperatures of up to 80C.
An Emco top-entry level switch with variable hysteresis adjustment is available for tanks up to 3m deep.
There is a video demonstration of its operation on the PVL website.
The lever carries a permanent magnet which is opposed by a similar magnet in the switch housing.
These magnets are separated by the mating flange of the level switch which offers excellent sealing.
Both the top and side-entry models have a choice of switching options, including SPDT with gold or silver contacts, Namur and pneumatic, the pneumatic being safe for hazardous environments.
Approvals include Det Norske Veritas, Lloyds Register of Shipping and Bureau Veritas.
PVL supplies a range of level switches, including remote housings, ATEX explosion-proof switches and continuous output level control units. Request a free brochure from PVL ...
