Power conditioners keep cash registers running
Crown Management Systems is installing Powervar power conditioning equipment with every till, as it rolls out its advanced InnTouch and Caterwide systems across all Costa Coffee's 250 outlets.
Designed for the protection of, retail EPOS tills, touch screens and back office systems, the Security One UPM is a total isolation, line interactive, back-up power supply system, which also incorporates all the functions of Powervar's low impedance power conditioning technology.
Under normal operating status the conditioning circuitry cleans the incoming commercial power supply to maintain the integrity and reliability of the electronic equipment, and keeps it in complete isolation from mainsborne noise and transients.
Whenever there is an interruption to the commercial power supply the UPM uses its internal hot swap battery and microprocessor controlled digital inverter to produce a low distortion sinusoidal waveform for the protected load.
Total manageability is the key to the versatility of the new Security One UPM.
The design incorporates four separate management sub-systems to allow users to exercise complete control over every aspect of the system operation.
Whether using mains power or the battery back up, only high quality, noise-free power reaches the protected load, with an isolation transformer to guarantee that neutral to ground voltage disturbances cannot cause disruption.
The built-in communications capability can readily interface with the basic UPS monitoring programmes of many operating systems.
When equipped with Powervar's proprietary software management suite, the UPM provides a complete range of tools to control functions including unattended shutdown, automatic power up/power down, scheduled testing, data and event logging.
Security One UPMs are now available in ratings from 240 to 1400VA.
In addition to the standard models, the company also offers UPM with Ground Guard technology, which can eliminate the need for dedicated/isolated electrical circuits.
All Powervar products carry a five-year equipment warranty, with a two-year warranty on the battery.
