Power supply conditions and protects
Powervar has launched its smallest all-in-one sinewave power conditioner and backup power supply, to extend the choice of ratings in its range of Security One Uninterruptible Power Managers (UPMs).
The Powervar DS Series DSP controller supplies pure and stable power for 2% distortion and 1% regulation.
Power factor correction prevents load-generated harmonics from reflecting back into the line source and the advanced phase lock loop is automatically synchronised to the frequency of the line power.
In the event of overload or failure, the main power will switch to the load automatically via the built-in bypass circuitry.
The sophisticated central processing unit provides fan speed control and a system self-diagnosis capability.
All models have cold start and auto-shutdown/auto-restart functions.
On models 2kVA and above, the units feature a prominent and easily recognisable graphic LCD, designed to give clear information and 'alerts' on the status of operation, including the calculated battery remain time.
Supplementary battery packs are available for applications, such as telecom systems, where extended autonomy is required.
