Power Jacks, the UK's largest manufacturer of worm gear screw jacks and actuation systems, has acquired all the intellectual property rights of West Midlands competitor Youngs Lifting.

Power Jacks, the UK's largest manufacturer of worm gear screw jacks and actuation systems, has acquired all the intellectual property rights of West Midlands competitor Youngs Lifting that has gone into receivership.

The Youngs Lifting product portfolio included worm gear screw jacks, hydraulic rams, hydraulic jacks, rail benders, rerailing equipment, cable drum jacks, worm gear winches, wall hoists, and other mechanical and hydraulic jacking solutions.

Power Jacks intends to consolidate the Youngs Lifting range of worm gear screw jacks with its own extensive range, while still offering existing Youngs Lifting customers the opportunity to purchase replacement or alternative screw jacks.

In addition to this the company plans to offer all of its customers access to the complete range of Youngs equipment.

With the addition of the Youngs Lifting product ranges, Power Jacks reinforces its position as a market leader for actuation, jacking and lifting solutions.

Commenting on the acquisition, Bruce Bultitude, Managing Director of the Power Jacks Group, said: "Although Youngs was a competitor, it's still sad to see the demise of yet another quality British engineering company.

Youngs had been manufacturing lifting equipment for British industry since the 1850s.

Their designs will not be lost however, as Power Jacks is more than capable of producing their complete range of products".
