PVC retains antistatic properties

Available both as unplasticised and plasticised PVC, these compounds are used wherever the electrostatic protection of high-grade components or the prevention of electrostatic discharge sparks are a priority, for example in chipmaking, general electronic industry environments, or chemical process equipment manufacturing.
Product applications include storage container systems and packaging for electronic components as well as general-purpose storage and transport solutions.
The permanently antistatic properties of PVC, which is by nature an electrical isolator, are achieved by working a special type of electroconductive carbon black into the compound.
This additive, finely dispersed, forms a network of mutually contacting, electrically conductive particles within the matrix.
In addition, it imparts a black colour to the product, which enhances its UV resistance.
Polymer-Chemie offers all unplasticised and plasticised PVC compounds in lead-based or lead-free stabiliser variants (using tin and calcium-zinc stabilisers).
The company's plasticised PVC compounds are available in various Shore hardnesses and rubber-modified grades for applications calling for an increased resistance to specific media, such as oils or common solvents.
Custom modifications and formulation adjustments of these permanently antistatic PVC compounds are likewise available where special requirements need to be addressed.
